No parties that are classified as wings of the political power, including FLN, RND, Assembly of Algeria’s Hope, Algerian Popular Front and the Party for Freedom and Justice, have been settled on an opinion regarding the upcoming presidential elections, and they all seem in a state of alert for any developments that will occur in the coming period, especially the health status of the President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika, similar to the case of waiting for “epitaxial revelation” to support the candidate who will be supported by the power, parallel to a serious and effective action of the Islamic movement, which is looking for union and a consensus candidate who represents it in the 2014 Presidential elections.

FLN spokesman, Kassa Issa, told Echorouk, in a phone conversation, that everything that was said on behalf of FLN, in anticipation to the Presidential Elections 2014, concerns only people who said this; “The issue of alliances in the Presidential Elections is unlikely now. Presidential elections, alliances and the convergence are the power of the Central Committee. “

Aissa answered a question on the fact that the session of the Central Committee is still hanging since the end of January 2012, and the countdown to the Presidential Elections began; “Despite this, the central Commission is the only party that will decide. When it’s the right time, there would be a decision for sure about FLN candidate or about who will support it». He avoided answering clearly about the date of resolution of the Central Committee, which has been unable to meet already since six months ago.

For his part, Secretary General of the Algerian Popular Movement, Amara Ben Younes, told Echorouk, that the movement’s position is clear and is considered as the clearest among political parties, which is an absolute support of Abdelaziz Bouteflika, if he will decides to run for the fourth term; “If Bouteflika will not run for the fourth term, he will put the matter to the institutions of the movement.

Amara Ben Younes, asserted that the winner of the presidential elections in 2014, cannot be the representative of only one party; “We are now five parties in the government representing the National Democratic Movement, and we are ready to provide the initiative and support the candidate to represent it, for the fact that the majority of parties of this trend is in favor of this option”.
