Parties’ draft law spreads discontent amongst MPs
In an unprecedented move, the chairman of the lower chamber Abdelaziz Ziari has vehemently reacted against some MP’s attacks against the National Liberation Front party members accusing them of confiscating the party’s legacy for partisan interests.

“ You should have raised the issue 50 years ago not now”, he launched to the MPs. M Ziari has infringed the parliament’s bylaws.

Some MPs have staunchly the old party hegemony on what they consider a common legacy of the entire Algerian people and the members of this party have no right to use this situation for their own benefit.

The chairman intervened to put an end to a strong argument between the member of the old party Abdelhamid Si Afif and another one who suggested the revision of a provision included in the new parties’ law.

The MP has criticised the ( FLN) of holding sway on the people’s heritage, spurring anger amongst the party’s members.

The spokesman of the FLN has responded to the MPs criticism saying that the party is here since 50 years and no one can deny it the right to exercise politics.

For his part the chairman of the parliament has reprimanded M Si Afif for his inappropriate behaviour summoning him to respect his official status.
