Party leader Ahmed Ouyahia: We are not afraid of the Islamists

The leader of the National Democratic Rally Ahmed Ouyahya has yesterday belittled the influence of the new political parties saying that these “ miniscule parties’ will not “affect us”, noting that there wasn’t any problem with the Islamic parties and his party was not afraid of an Islamic alliance.

• During his address at the culture palace of the province of Djelfa, southern Algeria, Ouyahia has indicated that some have promised 500 thousand Algerian Dinars to convince women to join the their lists ahead of the elections.

• The party leader has ,once again, slashed out at the Turkish PM Tayip Radjeb Erdogan for trying to square up with France by involving Algeria, wandering why the Turkish authorities have sent back their ambassador to France despite the political stains between the two countries.

• As to the “Arab spring” events, Ouyahia has declared that these revolutions were a “ curse” for the Arab peoples.

• M Ouyahia has asserted that all the guarantees were given to assure fair and transparent elections with the presence of 600 foreign observers to monitor this operation.
