Party leader Djamel Ben Abdesslem to Echourouk: Upcoming elections crucial for the country’s future
The Secretary General of the New Algeria Front Djamel Ben Abdeslem has called on the regime in power and the opposition to agree upon the ” morale charter” suggesting vote rigging a political crime against the nation and the citizen alike.

He considers the upcoming elections a crucial stage in the restoration of the economic, social and political stability of the country.

Djamell Ben Abdeslem has declared” There are four key conditions for assuring transparent elections; first: the existence of a political will to combat any form of fraud, second: an accord between the parties that benefit from the fraud and those that suffer prejudice that playing on the people’s will is a political crime, third: securing the judicial apparatus from any form of pressure, fourth: convincing the population to vote in masse and supervising the election process”.

Talking yesterday at “ Echourouk’s Forum” the party leader considers the “upcoming elections a crucial stage in the Algerian history if well exploited, the country will retrieve its glorious pre-colonial period but q fraud will engulf it in an imbroglio”.

Djamel Ben Abdeslem has further said” We have to bear in mind that a year ago we nearly experienced the same troubles that swept through Egypt and Tunisia, consequently, the regime has to abide by the people’s will”.

“ I don’t believe that there are parties in power that will put at stake once again the country’s future because the aftermaths of the crisis that we witnessed two decades ago are still visible”, he added.

Djamel Ben Abdeslem has indicated that he had received a draft document initiating an Islamic alliance ahead of the next elections but he postponed his response because of the preparations to hold the party’s constituent assembly. His party’s will pronounce on the issue on Friday , he added.
