Police agents and officers barred from traveling abroad without prior authorization of National Police General Manager
National Police General Manager Abdelghani Al Hamel
The General Manager of the National Police, Major General Abdelghani Al Hamel, has issued a firm directive to all the police services notifying them that it is forbidden for all executives and agents of the national police to leave the national territory for whatever reason without a prior authorization bearing his own signature.
-
In consistence with this decision taken earlier this week, any element belonging to the national police services willing to quit the national territory for whatever destination overseas should first file a request to the national police general manager who holds the prerogative to allow or to forbid the travel of his elements outside the country.

This stringent directive concerns all the elements of the national police services without any distinction even the senior police officers.
-
-
Observers regard this directive by Major-General Abdelghani Al Hamel who replaced last July late Ali Tounsi at the head of this constituent body as a method of struggle against bribery and corruption at a time when reports reveal that some police executives have frequently benefited from trips abroad as gifts.

This drastic guideline is meant to serve as a control mechanism to head off from now onwards any damaging drifts and any shady practices within the national police services.
