Police Officers’ Sick Leave Subject to Strict Control

The National Security Department (DGSN) has ordered that the central police clinic in Algiers to be the lone body eligible for the attribution of sick leaves to police officers nationwide.

The National Security Department (DGSN) has ordered that the central police clinic in Algiers to be the lone body eligible for the attribution of sick leaves to police officers nationwide.

Henceforth, all police officers without exception, in different ranks, would be subject to scrupulous diagnostics in the central clinic, before being delivered sick leave permission.

Such a procedure has been taken “to curb the excess resort to long term sick leave” by police officers, as “a way to escape serving in the Sahara.”

The instruction specifies that any officer taking sick leave without permission of police central clinic would be subject to penalty.
