Political parties criticize authorities over political reforms

Several politicians have criticized the slow pace of the political reforms initiated by the president Bouteflika last April warning against the negative impacts of this tardiness on the country’s stability .

  •

  •

  •

  • Among these personalities, the former information minister Abdelaziz Rehhabi has expressed his pessimism “ If the reforms are conducted with the same pace, we won’t see the outcome of it except the achievements reached in 1999 that witnessed the emergence of free press and political diversity”.

  •

  • Abdelaziz Rehabi considers that the authorities are not living up to the Algerians’ expectations and “lack political volition because in the Arab world everything depends on the political will amid a total absence of institutions able to manage their affairs”.

  •

  • For his part, the founder of Enahdha movement Abdellah Djabellah has linked the slowness of the reforms to the diagnosis of the crisis that’s prevailing in the country which, according to him, a purely social one

  •

  • The leader of the Justice and Development party considers that the authorities have to choose between two options: either to deal with the situation with objectivity and turn to the citizens, or expose the country to social unrests, ahead of the summer break.
