Political party calls on the head of state to review provisions included in the fire –fighters’ status
The parliamentary group of “ Annahdha†party has called on the president to stop intimidating the Algerian people through executive decrees that offence its sacred principles.
The Islamic party considers the specific status of the fire-fighters was issued on the basis of an extremist ideology, since it combats ostentatious religious signs on the elements of this corporation.
The communiqué released yesterday by the group notes that the status “ was not based on the professional criteria that rule the sector as it bluntly announces that the fire- fighters do not belong to the Algerian state whose constitution stipulates that the state’s religion was Islam”.
The parliamentarians have wondered about the real drives that pushed those who drew this decree “ How do they dare to wage a war against all behaviour that has a link with the Algerian people principles and state’s religion”.
