Practitioners and Specialists of the Public Health : “Ouyahia’s statements are not important as long as we met the president”
Algeria's PM Ahmed Ouyahia with president Abdelaziz Bouteflika

The National Associations of Practitioners and Specialists in the Public Health Sector condemned statements by the PM Ahmed Ouyahia, as their spokesmen said; “Ouyahia refused to meet us and spoke about us at the partisan meetings, first at the meeting of presidential coalition, and now at the National Council of RND, while he completely ignored us at the ministry-level. However, we tell him, you didn’t meet us at the ministry-level but the president did, and he should know that the presidency met us in order to solve what Ouyahia refused to do”.

  • The two associations decided to cancel the national protest by the doctors and practitioners which was scheduled for next Wednesday before the headquarters of the presidency and abolish all the sit-ins which were scheduled before the local headquarters across the country, after the presidency received a delegation of doctors and practitioners who were stinking.
  • Both the head of the National Association of Practitioners in Public Health Ilyes Merabet and Association of Specialists in Public Health Mohamed Youssefi, said during a press conference on Saturday in Algiers; “We are waiting for the president’s solution and not the PM’s because we met with the president and not the ministry”.
  • This is our message to PM Ouyahia; “If your memory is weak, there is nothing wrong to remind you that there were strikes in 1997 which lasted more than four months, it comes to a strike by teachers of higher education called for by the National Council of Teachers of Higher Education (CNAS). Your statements are not important since the presidency hears us”.
