President Abdelaziz Bouteflika promulgates the organic laws
ALGIERS – President Abdelaziz Bouteflika promulgated Thursday five organic laws relating to respectively the electoral system, cases of incompatibility with the parliamentary mandate, expanding access of women to representation in elected assemblies, information and political parties and the law on associations, a statement from the Presidency said.
- These laws have been promulgated pursuant to the article 126 of the Constitution, the same source added.
- President Bouteflika promulgated on Thursday five acts relating to the electoral system, respectively in cases of conflict with the parliamentary mandate, to expand opportunities for women to excess presentation of elected assemblies, information and political parties, and the law on associations as well.
- All these laws have been passed by both houses of parliament after extensive debates that had led to the enrichment of the laws and the amendment of certain provisions. These new laws are part of the politic reforms announced by President Bouteflika, in his speech to the nation on April, 15, 2011.
