President of Algerian Football Federation to Echourok: No reconciliation with the Egyptians until formal apologies

The president of the Algerian Football Association (FAF) Mohammed Raouraoua was dismissive to the allegations reported yesterday on the Egyptian newspaper”Al Ahram” that the Algerian authorities didn’t lodge a complaint against the Egyptian Football authorities in the wake of the cowardly attack carried out against the Algerian players in Cairo ahead of the return match fror the qualification to the world cup.

• Talking to Echourok, Mohammed Raouraoua has indicated that Algeria will not have any other opinion as long as the Egyptian authorities will stand on their positions and refuse to make formal apology to Algeria over the tragic event.

• He regarded the Egyptian allegations attributed to his person, on the sidelines of the proceedings of the North African Union that took place in Rabat, Morocco, as slander and unfounded” I have never declared that we have dropped out the complaint lodged against the Egyptians to the FIFA simply because the international laws do not allow me to do that and the FIFA representative in charge of security and the match’s supervisor have forwarded a thorough report on the events that preceded the match last November”, he said.

• He went on saying” I have informed Mahmoud Echami, a member of the Egyptian Federation Executive Board who represented his president Samer Zaher in the meeting that I forcefully rule out any reconciliation’s move or a meeting with Samer Zaher if he refuses to apology to Algeria”.

• Mohammed Raouraoua considers the matter too serious to be shut out insisting on the choosing between apologies punishment.

• Mohammed  Raouraoua has indicated that FIFA will have a last meeting with Samer Zaher before issuing its decision “ Let me tell you that the FIFA will disclose its decision soon over the attack on the Algeria players has to meet for the last time with Samer to hear from him before deliberating “

• It should be noted that the Egyptians have several times called on the Samer Zaher to make formal apologies to the Algerian authorities but this one has always refused to do so under pressure of the Egyptian authorities.
