Presidential elections:Islamists launch consultations to present a common candidate for 2014

Contacts between national political figures were launched to search ways to present a common candidate for 2014 presidential elections, Azzedine Djarafa, a member of Algeria Green Bloc says.

“There is a large probability to reach an agreement to present a candidate or two for 2014 presidential elections, there is a general movement, and contacts exist with different national political personalities, in order to find common personalities that could participate in 2014 presidential elections. A measure that could serve the credibility of the presidential elections.”

Djarafa explained, in a phone contact with Echorouk on Friday that; “The project is beyond the political parties and is not only limited between the sons of Islamic movement. The initiative is not realised definitively, but the hopes for success remain open, and this could stop the harassment and attacks against Algeria”.
