The managers of “ Bab Ezzouar” mall center based in Algiers, have used, for the first time ever, a highly sophisticated detector 10 days ago during the new year’s eve, with the aim to avert any terror attack and assure total security for thousands of visitors that flocked to the mall on this special occasion.

One of the managers at a security firm has indicated that two Canadian made detectors have been imported, one for the benefit of the US “City Bank” here in Algiers to secure its premises, following permission granted the Algerian defence and interior ministries in 2008.

The second one was installed in the mall center recently at the request of the managers in order to check thousands of cars that park in center’s parking without opening the cars’ trunks.

This operation was requiring a lot of time since it was conducted manually by the security guards before.
