“Pt Bouteflika’s improving health condition defuses protracted FLN party crisis”
The members of the political bureau of the FLN party have reportedly agreed by consensus to clear the air and to brace for the organization of transparent elections for the designation of a new Secretary General of the party in the wake of the good news about the improving health condition of President Abdellaziz Bouteflika, who is now convalescing at the Invalides medical institution in the French capital Paris.
According to reliable sources, the projected elections for the appointment of a new Secretary General of the party after the forced resignation of the former FLN party chief Abdellaziz Belkhadem are likely to be held in early July 2013 in order to bring back serenity and stability within the leading hierarchy and the rank and file as well after months of agitation and internecine power-struggle.
The same sources also indicated that the outstanding FLN Party figures were not resolute to do away with internal wrangling and turmoil by reunifying and bolstering the ranks with a view to improving the brand-image of the FLN-backed candidate for the upcoming 2014 Presidential polls.
