Rabia al-Adawiya martyrs greeted in Algiers Harcha Hall

Algiers’ Harcha Hall noticed on Saturday exciting events on the occasion of the ordinal match between the teams of Egypt and Angola within the African Handball Cup of Nations.

Fans raised the banner of Rabia al-Adawiya in the faces of Egyptian players as they entered the hall, what provoked and make them react inappropriately which aroused the ire of supporters, and made some deviate from the duty of fitness and hospitality, by throwing Egyptian players with water bottles.

At the start of the Egyptian national anthem, some fans launched songs and whistles to confuse the Egyptian anthem, what provoked dismay and disapproval of everyone, including Algerians.

Then masses in Harcha Hall started chanting political slogans in favor of the legitimacy of the Egyptian removed President, Mohamed Morsi, with the lifting of the slogan of Rabia al-Adawiya, which symbolizes the thousands of martyrs who died in the Rabia al-Adawiya sit in, by the hands of the Egyptian armed troops and police, in a shameful incident, that is recorded in the history of Egypt.

Algerians fans who raised Rabia al-Adawiya slogans fourth noticed that this marks the second anniversary of the January 25 revolution in Egypt, which brought down Hosni Mubarak’s ousted regime that lasted for more than 30 years.

Faced with this situation, the Egyptian delegation and the players were unable to control their nerves after the end of the meeting, as after the announcement of the end of the match, by winning 31-24, they faced the crowd and waved the Egyptian flag, and kissed their shirts in a provocative way that irritated fans in the hall that almost exploded, forcing the intervention of security men and some wise people who calmed down the situation, who rushed to take the Egyptian players to the rooms of keeping clothes.
