Racists Burn Up an Algerian National in South Africa

An Algerian national in South Africa has been assaulted and burned while sleeping inside a store in Pretoria.The victim is lying in hospital in a critical condition, as he is suffering serious second degree burnings.

 

The head of Voice of Algeria Association, Maalem Mohamed Nacer said in a statement, of which Echorouk has a copy, that “Two Algerian nationals working in a store owned by a Chinese landlord in Pretoria were surprised by racist colored men, intentions of whom were not to steal the store, but rather to set in fire, causing thus serious burns to an Algerian national, who is currently lying in hospital in life or death.”

The statement addressed Algeria Foreign Ministry saying “the mute diplomacy is useless, mostly as nationals abroad are marginalized,” stressing that “it’s a premeditated killing of 7 million Algerian nationals living in different parts of the world.”

The source further addressed Algerian embassies worldwide, saying “We address Algerian embassies worldwide and tell them that their task is on the ground rather than in back offices.”

The statement reads that the tragedies of Algerian nationals abroad, amid the snub of the Foreign Ministry, State Secretary for Nationals Abroad, and Consolatory Council for Nationals Living Abroad.

 Voice of Algeria has called the 3000 nationals living in South Africa to come together and support each others.
