Ramadan 2013: Rich citizens in markets of solidarity

Markets of solidarity that are oriented for the needy and the poor citizens, noticed a large crowd of citizens in the early hours of the morning of the first day of the holy month of Ramadan, due to the lower prices by 50%.

Rich people were in time and joined poor citizens in these markets, as luxurious cars parked in front of the main entrance of the market of solidarity at the headquarters of the General Union of Algerian Workers in the first May square in Algiers.

First day of Ramadan noticed long lines and crowds of large numbers of citizens within the markets of solidarity that are allocated for the needy and the poor citizens, which were considered by the Trade Minister, Moustapha Ben Bada, as a psychological measure that is sufficient to reduce speculation.

Echorouk visited at eight o’clock of Wednesday morning the market of solidarity located near the General Union of Algerian Workers in the first May square.

Tents were installed for selling food, oil, meat and other milk and dairy products with significant reductions, as prices of red meat ranged between 1000 and 1200 AD per kilogram, and white meat between 200 and 230 AD, while the price of milk was reduced to 20 AD and 40 AD for cow’s milk. Price of 5 liters of oil reached 550 dinars.
