Abolition of Article 87 bis of the Labor Law, and re- drafting a new definition to it, will allow the re-formulation of wages policy, and redefining the guaranteed national minimum wage, General-Secretary of the National Federation of Textile and Leather Workers, which belong to the General Union of Algerian Workers, Ammar Takdjout.
Takdjout, who serves as a member of the Executive Committee of the General Union of Algerian Workers, told the 3rd Radio Channel, that the Article 87 bis that was adopted during the economic crisis of 1994, is no longer valid and canceling it also allowed editing the wages at the level of institutions and the public employment.
“Abolition of this article will also allow re-determining the salaries and the wages scale, because it considered that the increases will be included directly on the guaranteed national minimum wage, and not the net salary to allow the registration of increases in the amount of 18,000 dinars due to grants. Cancelling Article 87 bis and re- drafting a new definition for it will be in the context of the Finance Bill for the coming year”.
“Process to defer the implementation of the resolution that led to the tripartite meeting that was held last week, aims not to include the financial impact of the application of this material within the budget of the current year, which did not provide for additional expenses”;
Spokesman on behalf of the Labor Ministry and the Central Trade Union, which are supposed therein to provide additional clarification regarding the abolition of Article 87 bis, said; “Cancellation is necessary through the legislation”, a statement that comes identical to the statement the Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal, who confirmed that the abolition of Article 87 bis will be in parallel with the drafting of a new definition for it, that comes within the Financial Act for 2015.
