Red rays cameras to protect Algerian borders
Equipment Central Director at the Algerian national defense ministry Ali Akroum Thursday said the government examines a project to reduce national service duration as armed forces will be modernized and the Popular National Army entered professionalism.
“The project to reduce national service duration is real,” Akroum said in a seminar about the ‘role of scientific research in armies development and modernization.’
He did not give more details, saying the national army works on providing all the means to ensure the safety of borders.
A colonel at the national defense ministry said a project will be launched to set up cameras with red rays cameras to use them in protecting borders. They will be supervised by military industries department in the province of Sidi Belabes (west of Algeria).
“The national army works on modernizing the sector by new equipment and training,” he added.
Speaker of the People’s National Assembly Larbi Ould Khelifa criticized Morocco without citing its name for its intention to divide Algeria.
“In the half of the last century, Algeria worked on having zero problems with Arab and African neighbor countries. Its army has never attacked a country. Algeria has never shown any hostile intention. It has always been in support to peace, cooperation, freedom and dignity,” he said in an address.
Speaking about an early terrorist attack on a gas field in southern Algeria, Ould Khelifa said Algeria fought cross-border terrorism which tried to come back and hit an economic enterprise in Tiguentourine.
All the capitals in the world highlighted our national army’s competence and its successful action against attackers in record time, he added.
