Report: Morocco’s Makhzen hired 56 Moroccan agents to sow turmoil ahead of Algeria’s presidential elections
A recent security report warned of a foreign scheme aimed at provoking mayhem in Algeria. The report dubbed as confidential, exposed plans to sow turmoil in a number of scattered Algerian provinces with the Moroccan Makhzen secretly hiring 56 persons of Moroccan nationality for this nefarious purpose in a bid to mar the upcoming April 17 presidential polls in Algeria.
As a result, the security services in Algeria raised the degree of alert and preparedness in the various provinces of the Republic, and issued firm orders and instructions to border police and border-guards to hike the level of vigilance at all the border crossings in order to face up to any untoward contingency.
High-security sources told Echorouk to this effect that 56 people of Moroccan nationality had been recruited by Morocco’s Makhzen with the covert objective to create chaos and wreaking havoc in Algeria on the occasion of the forthcoming presidential election as part of destabilization schemings.
Such a destabilization plot hatched by the Makhzen was uncovered in the light of reliable clues and information collected by the Algerian security services after a thorough investigation, the same sources added.
