Representatives of Algerian Community Abroad reject the new procedure of transferring Corpses

Same representatives added that they proposed a new project to the Foreign Ministry, which is based on paying a certain sum of money during every process of renewing the consulate card.

Representatives of the Algerian community told FM Mourad Medelci, that they categorically refuse the new form of insurance which is adopted by the Algerian authorities to transfer corpses of Algerians who die in other countries.

Representative of the Algerian community in Europe and America, Noureddine Belmeddah, told Echorouk that representatives held a meeting with the FM Mourad Medelci, the Chairman of the Parliament Foreign Committee, Belkacem Belabbas, and the State Secretary in charge of National Committee abroad, Belkacem Sahli, as the position was clear and firm, which is the categorical refusal of the insurance formulate, which was lunched by authorities a few days ago, about transferring corpses of Algerians who die abroad.

“The new project is currently under study between representatives of the Algerian community abroad”.

In turn, the Algerian community expressed refusal of the insurance formulate, and proposed for its part a sum that does not exceed 30 euros when renewing the consulate card or passport, once in five years, therefore, enough sums of money can be collected to transfer corpses of Algerians who die in any country of the world.

Coordinator of the Algerian Nationals Movement in France, Amar Ait Mokhtar told Echorouk; “Balkecem Sahli launched the formulate of insurance with an individual decision, without consulting or negotiations with the community’s associations, therefore, it is rejected because it reflects a desire of trade activity using corpses of Algerian nationals, instead of offering a service of the Algerians”.

“During the meeting between Medelci and representatives of Algerian community abroad, it was decided to cancel the procedure of the Foreign Ministry, which is only applied at the Algerian General Consulate in Barcelona, and which obliged everyone who lost passport, to wait two or six months to have a new passport, in addition to canceling a series of bureaucratic measures in embassies and consulates, including the non obligation of the person’s presence for signing on futile documents, or registration and adding kids to the passport”, he explained.

Belmeddah opened the file of Algerians detained in European and American prisons, and standing by every Algerian who was decided not guilty by justice in these countries, and retake their residence documents and get compensated after that, as this should be decided during a meeting that will be held by the Foreign Minister, or the State Secretary with the authorities of the countries which are implicated in such injustice such as, Britain, USA, Spain and Italy.
