Resumption Of French Visa Application Service On June 14th 2020

The French Consulate General in Algeria said on Wednesday that the French visa application service is still in abeyance.

In a post on its official page, the French consulate stated that its doors will be gradually reopened as from next 14th of June.

The French consulate indicated that, starting from this date, the consulate offices will receive passport applications, national identity cards, as well as travel permits.

The French Consulate General also reminded the citizens that it is mandatory to wear a protective mask and to respect the physical distancing between visitors coming to the consulate.

The French Consulate in Algeria started an appeal earlier in the month of June, last year, by booking appointments.

Thereby, the French consulate general in Algiers announced in a press release that the gradual reopening of these services to the public is continuing.

Indeed, and “as of June 14th, requests for passports, national identity cards and passes will be received again,” the statement said.

“Since June 1st, the consulate general receives the public again exclusively by appointment in compliance with health security conditions,” recalls the Consulate, who again specifies that “the appointments are fixed by the consulate general. People who present themselves without being expected by the Consulate General will not be admitted”.

In addition, the consulate said that “the other services of the consulate general, including the visa service, remain closed to this day”.

As a reminder, the Consulate reopened, as of June 1st, several of its services to the public notably those related to: civil status; the nationality; passports and national identity cards; elections; and certificates of change of residence.
