Rio Tinto's Alcan in 7 billion dollar aluminium production deal with Algeria 's Cevital company
Rio Tinto's Alcan has agreed to partner Algerian private company Cevital in an aluminium production project costing a total of 7 bilion US dollars, said the Algerian industry ministry.

The first phase of this major project, due to be achieved soon in eastern Algeria , is expected to involve a smelter factory with about 720,000 tonnes capacity, the company indicated. The two sides have also agreed to foster further joint cooperation deals in the near future.
