Riyad Mahrez: “My Mom Is Moroccan, My Dad Is Algerian, There Is No Problem”

The Algerian international, Riyad Mahrez, the star of Manchester City, responded to accusations against him of provoking a football dispute between Morocco and Algeria by some social media pages, saying; “My mother is Moroccan, my father is Algerian and there is no problem”.

“Mahrez is igniting a new football crisis between Algeria and Morocco unintentionally”, French journalist Patrick Juillard said in a tweet via his official account on Twitter.

Mahrez responded via his Twitter account: “Thank you, Patrick, there is no new problem, My mom is Moroccan, Algeria and Morocco are always in the heart. There is no difference between Algeria and Morocco, we only prefer to win”, Mahrez added this response with some laughing emojis that confirm that the player did not want to give this case bigger than its true size.

Previously, Mahrez said in his correct and accurate statements: “Moroccans are bothered by Algeria winning the championship, they always see us as troublesome and talk a lot. This coronation is a victory for Algeria, not for Morocco”.

“When Algeria plays, I know that some communities in Paris and its suburbs are not with us, do you think that the Moroccans encourage us? They are not like this. Maybe the Tunisians encourage us, but the Moroccans do not, just like Senegalese and Cameroonians, do you know why? Not because they do not love us, but because we make a lot of noise (when Celebration), we shout a lot and talk a lot”.
