Large amounts of rotting chicken meat destined to the second and third Military regions as well as to Sonatrach workers, Universities and passengers of car-ferries have been discovered and seized in the western part of Algeria.
- This large quantity of meat which jeopardizes the lives of citizens comes from the Boukirat slaughter house located in the province of Oran and from another slaughter house situated in the province of Mascara in western Algeria.
- These two units are linked to the slaughter houses of the west of the country and such a ghastly discovery has been made by local vetenerary surgeons during an impromptu inspection visit there.
- An official report, of which Echorouk possesses a copy, showed that the frozen meat in question was largely outdated and represented a real danger for public health.
- This large quantity which was destined to a large consumption by the Army, students, passengers on maritime lines and citizens in general, was fortunately seized as it was proven that it didn’t comply at all with sanitation norms in consistence with the outcome of the strict controls carried out by a team of vetenerary surgeons in the two targeted slaughter houses.
- Legal proceedings have been filed against the managers and those in charge of the running of these two slaughter houses where the rotting chicken meat was discovered.
