Saadani warns of suing his opponents

The Algerian interior ministry rejected a request from Abderrahmane Belayat’s group to hold an urgent session of the FLN’s central committee while the party’s Secretary General Amar Saadani plans to sue him for usurping profession.

Conflict is still going on between Belayat’s group and the administration as the ministry insists on not accepting the request under the pretext of profession absence.

Officials said the request must be signed by Saadani while his opponents inside the party do not want to admit him.

Senior member at Belayat’s group Abdelkader Mechbek believes that the central committee’s meeting will deal with the election of a new Secretary General.

Saadani plans to sue Belayat and Aissa Kaca for usurping profession as he obtained a copy of their request.

According to sources, a number of leading members held a meeting on Sunday with the FLN’s former leader Abdelaziz belkhadem shortly before their meeting with Saadani.

They represent the wing which wants to bring Belkhadem back to the head of the party and most of them signed for the dismissal of Saadani.
