Said Bouteflika to take legal action against Hichem Aboud over slanderous accusations
Algerian President Bouteflika’s youngest brother and his special advisor, Said Bouteflika, has decided to launch legal proceedings against former DRS intelligence services officer, Hichem Aboud, now settled in France who leveled grave personal accusations against him in an inflammatory letter published on Monday on an Algerian news website touching off an uproar among the national public opinion.
Said Bouteflika told the press having received Hichem Aboud’s letter via the Presidency of the Republic and having ordered to make it public entirely with the aim of having the public opinion as witness.
Said Bouteflika rejected Hichem Aboud’s libelous accusations as totally unacceptable stressing such serious accusations didn’t deal a blow to himself only but also to a whole people who won’t accept that the President’s brother could have such a negative behavior as mendaciously alleged by Hichem Aboud in his letter.
Said Bouteflika also pointed out that he wouldn’t stand idly by in the face of such low-down accusations and that he would take legal action against Hichem Aboud, adding that the latter is a person unknown to him as he has never met with him, as he put it.
