Schwarzenegger: “I’m against pollution and Oran is a beautiful city looking like California”
The former Governor of California and world renowned movie actor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, was the distinguished guest on Wednesday of the city of Oran in western Algeria as part of a visit aimed at launching the big project related to the opening of an office there of the R20 non-governmental association for the region of the Mediterranean basin in a bid to reach a “zero-level waste”.
The city of Oran, given its necessary amenities, has been chosen by the Algerian authorities in conjunction with this environment-friendly NGO headed by Arnold Schwarzenegger as a pilot city for such a salutary project.
In a joint statement to the press in Oran together with the Algerian environment Minister Amara Benyounes, Mr Arnold Schwarzenegger extolled the gorgeous sights of the city of Oran saying that it looked like California on many accounts.
He also indicated that the city of Oran had been chosen by the R20 NGO as capital for the Mediterranean and vice-chairman for the Africa region.
The R20 is a large-scale non-governmental organization which deals with climatic problems and the protection of the ozone layer from greenhouse emissions on a global scale.
