Security services arrest two terrorists in Algiers

Algiers- Security services arrested last week two terrorist belonging to AQIM in Bach Djerrah popular neighborhood, east of the capital, security sources said.

According to data available from initial investigation, the terrorists were wanted since three years ago by the security services in both Algiers and Annab, east of Algeria, and a warrant bulletin was issued against them in both cities folwing information made by terrorists in the same group arrested in 2008 in Bach Djerrah, Harrache and Al Nakhlat districts.

Echorouk sources added that the two terrorists are Abu Reihana “Walid.A” 25 from Bach Djarrah, whose task is recruiting new youth from popular districts in AQIM, while the second terrorist comes from El Bouni in Annaba, east of Algeria, called Abu Muslim Al Annabi and his real name is Sofiane.A, 28.

Security investigations found that the two terrorists were members of Al Fatah battalion active in Boumerdes east of Algiers, which leader was eliminated in 2009 by the armed forces following the implementation of many terrorist attacks in Algiers.

Echorouk sources added that the arrest was in collaboration with families of the two terrorists which revealed when and where the terrorists visit the neighborhood.

Security services confiscated two firearms, mobile phones and sums of money.

The ongoing investigations are expected to detect on the most important projects and terrorists plots AQIM is determined to implement in Algiers and the central regions of the country.
