Security services tighten control on Tiska International Airport to thwart terrorist attacks

Djanet- Security services at the level of Djanet International Airport (south of Algeria) tighten security measures on passengers and even agents working there to thwart any potential terrorist attacks.

The Algerian security forces use equipment for explosive detection and modern technologies for the first time in the region in order to clear cars, and controlling passengers and their luggage through the scanning of persons and luggage using new generations of scanners installed in the air terminal twice before undergoing a third operation for physical inspection and survey by mobile devices and other more accurate procedures as well.

The lifting of security measures in Tiksa airport is a precautionary step taken by the Algerian authorities to protect passengers and foreign tourists from any terrorist attacks, especially as large numbers of Libyans escaping from war in their country use it to travel to other countries in the Middle East, Morocco, Tunisia and Algiers.

Tiksa airport noticed an unusual movement of passengers due to the increasing numbers of Libyan refugees who seek to travel to many countries as it is the closest point to the Algerian Libyan borders, and other visitors from Mauritania, Asia, and Turkey as well.
