Abdelmalek Sellal, Algeria's Prime Minister

Algerian Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal ordered to drop names of people who benefited from state aid from the housing national data base so that they will be granted houses subsidized by the State, Echorouk has learnt.

Sellal gave the instruction to Algerian interior minister Dahou Ould Kablia and housing minister Abdelmadjid Teboune to drop the names as the aid they got “is not important.”

According to the same sources, the instruction comes following investigations conducted a commission assigned by the Prime Ministry in the province of Bayadh.

The commission received a large number of requests from people who were not given the right to benefit from housing projects as they had benefited from state aid.

Teboune took two new measures to ease house acquisition procedures. If an applying husband or a wife is dead, the living spouse can keep up the application.

Housing applications will be updated in accordance to applicants’ salary. People who used to be eligible to benefit from social houses but their salary went up to more than 24,000 DZ will be granted participative houses.
