Algerian Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal alluded to his intention not to run for office in the next presidential elections, saying “I don’t want anything.”

Sellal gave main lines of the roadmap for the next step ahead of the elections as part of Algeria’s social policy, housing program and infrastructures.

The Prime Minister was on an inspecting visit to the province of Bouira. He launched political messages showing that Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika will run for new presidential term.

This comes amid allegations that Sellal exploits his working visits to promote his political image to run for office.

He highlighted Bouteflika’s achievements, saying he led Algeria toward development and security.

He added that the government works on reaching social democracy and the country is under people’s authority.

Speaking about development and public expenses on projects, Sellal said the government is determined to continue its housing program in response to skeptical allegations that the AADL housing project is no more than a tool for the electoral campaign.

“The government is attached to infrastructures establishment and continue social support,” he said.

He called on people to be patient, saying “no one has a magic wand neither Solomon’s Ring. Signing a decree is not as easy as signing a banking check.”
