Seven Traffickers Arrested, 6 Katiousha Rocket Launchers Seized on Border With Libya

Algeria national army has seized a load of smuggled weapons from Libya on the locality of Ouaden, in the city of Ain Amenas, Illizi province, south east Algeria.

A well informed source revealed to Echorourk reporter that Army troops have recently arrested seven people on board of two trucks, suspected of providing weapons to terror groups operating in the desert.

The army troops have seized in this operation 4 boxes full of ammunition, two Katiousha rocket launchers and a machine gun. 

The arrested people are endured to cross-examinations before being referred to justice. 

A couple of days ago, a military patrol, on border with Libya, discovered four handmade Katiousha rocket launchers and a load of machine guns hidden under sand.

The source said the seized arms are trafficked from Libya in bid to sell them to terror groups.
