Several criminals at large arrested in hotels by security forces

Security forces have arrested 837 individuals charged in absentia with several crimes and other misdemeanors over the year 2011, after comparing their check-in forms at the hotels with the criminal records.

  • A top source from the national gendarmerie has indicated that the gendarmerie and police elements move to the hotels located in their localities on daily basis to check the booking forms of the customers.

  •  

  • The forms are then compared to the criminal records and if there is any positive match, the security forces intervene immediately on spot to arrest the culprits and hand them over to judicial authorities.

  • Figures released by the gendarmerie services reveal that 837 individuals including 96 foreigners were arrested over the year 2011. The last case treated by the security forces deals with the arrest of a gang of 11 individuals led by a Senegalese woman.

  • The culprit was transferring a group of African women that dwell illegally in the southern parts of Algeria, to the northern cities to work as prostitutes.

  •  

  •  Security forces have also arrested a notorious terrorist who carried out several criminal acts. The individual was at large since 2000 following his involvement in the killing of an innocent civilian in one of the hotels of the province of Tipaza .
