SNAPAP Union backs Benhamadi and accuses Mahloul of mismanagement
The SNAPAP autonomous trade Union has utterly rejected as mendacious the recent declaration made by the General Manager of “Algérie Poste” who said that all the sanctions had been lifted on all postal workers who joined last week’s nationwide strike action over salary claims and other social benefits.
SNAPAP said in an assessment report of which Echorouk received a copy that 16 postal workers in the city of Annaba and 4 others in Relizane province were still penalized while 11 others were in the throes of legal proceedings brought against them by the “Algérie Poste” senior management because of the use of their legitimate right to wage a strike action together with their fellow workers.
The autonomous SNAPAP Trade Union also extended its support for the minister of post, information and communication, Moussa Benhamadi, and castigated by the same token “Algérie Poste” CEO Laid Mahloul accusing him of gross mismanagement and of adopting an overbearing stance in the face of the postal workers’ legitimate claims.
Laid Mahloul earlier accused in a press statement Mr Moussa Benhamadi, of issuing political and not economic pledges to the striking postal workers and of ignoring the reality on the professional ground.
