Snow Crisis due to Speculators, Federation of Algerian Consumers says

Algiers- Justice should punish the speculators who took advantage of the snow crisis for a quick profit at the expanse of poor citizens who are trapped in villages and isolated areas, Head of the Federation of Consumers’ Associations Zaki Harir told Echorouk.

The spokesman added that harsh sanctions should be taken against the speculators who were behind the expensive prices of gas (3000 AD per bottle) in order to create speculation in prices and gain more profits.

Echorouk sources said that this is all happening in the full absence of control by authorities, thus opening doors for speculators in all things bought and sold. The high prices extended to wood which is sold at expensive amounts in some areas, forcing some families to burn furniture of home in order to save lives of their kids.
