Sonatrach scandal: An international arrest warrant against Farid Bedjaoui

Court of Milan in Italy issued an international arrest warrant against Farid Bedjaoui, broker of large deals and bribes, and ordered the imprisonment of the previous director of construction and engineering Pietro Varoni, and this against the background of the issue of international bribery and corruption in contracts of the Italian company with the National Company of Hydrocarbons Sonatrach, as requested by the authorities of Singapore and Hong Kong, to freeze the assets of a Farid Bedjaoui which are $123 million.

Italian newspaper (Corriere Della Siera) uncovered on Tuesday the details of the exciting developments in the case of (ENI) Saipam and Sonatrach, noting that the Court of Milan and the services of the financial guards “Guardia di Venantsa” have made on 28 July last year, an international arrest warrant against Farid Bedjaoui, and has also directed a request for the authorities in Singapore to freeze the accounts of Farid Bedjaoui which are estimated at $ 100 million, and sent a similar request to Hong Kong authorities to freeze the accounts of Farid Bedjaoui estimated to $ 123 million, and the Court of Milan also issued an international judicial warrent to the Lebanese authorities, concerning accounts and companies founded by Bedjaoui and his family members.

The Italian N° 1 newspaper, cited exciting and new details on meetings between officials of Sonatrach and company of (ENI) and (Saipam), and how to pay bribes and commissions, and how (Saipam) granted funds to Sonatrach officials to win unbelievable contracts.

The sources added that Mohamed Meziane, former General Manager of Sonatrach and members of his family, have benefited from two flights worth $ 100,000 Euros to Italy and the former General Manager of Saipam Algeria Tolio Orsi paid the costs, and 1000 Euros per month were granted to the son of Mohamed Meziane, as a personal adviser for Saipam Algeria manager.
