Sonatrach sets new measures in deals granting
Naftogaz’s board of directors asked Sonatrach’s CEO to give more details about deals signed amicably with Algerian and foreign operators and the reasons behind refusing to assign finance and accountancy experts.
-
Sonatrach’s CEO Nourredine Cherrouati fixed new conditions to grant deals. Research, exploration, exploitation and development of oil and gas fields-related contracts are not involved in the instruction. Hydrocarbons and by-products importing contracts, maritime shipping devices intended to hydrocarbons exporting and importing, power, gas, water and fuel services are also excluded from the new instruction.
-
-
Cherrouati obliged all Sonatrach’s subsidiaries to publish deals signed amicably in call for tender bulletin. The company will have to revise the deals and check all its clauses. Companies involved in technical studies and consultancy-related calls for tender will be excluded from participating in projects implementation. Companies dealing with Sonatrach should respect guidelines and avoid corruption and pressure. Companies which do not respect the new rules in dealing with Sonatrach and all its subsidiaries will be excluded.

-
The new measures stressed the necessity to reduce dealing with foreign companies as hard currency conversion volume has gone up for the last ten years.
-
-
Algerian public and private companies will be given the priority provided that Algerian manpower is used.

-
Sonatrach will oblige its foreign partners in oil and gas projects to use Algerian workers and stop bringing workers from other countries.
