Spain: “Algerian passengers blocked at the port of Alicante”
Tens of Algerian nationals settled in Spain who were about to travel to Algeria to spend the Aïd El Adha feast with their families were blocked at the port of Alicante on account of very bad weather conditions.
-
According to eye-witness accounts, the passengers had to wait for 3 days at the port of Alicante as the crew of the car-ferry decided not to leave the Spanish port of Alicante because of heavy rains and strong winds.
-
-
The protracted stoppage was dictated by security reasons, according to a crew member.
-
-
This untoward situation brought about the indignation of the passengers who were thus unable to join the port of Oran to spend the Aïd El Adha feast with their next of kin and friends this year.
