Spanish coastguards arrest 11 Algerian illegal immigrants in Palma de Mallorca

The Spanish coastguards arrested on Monday night 11 Algerian illegal immigrants who were on board of small fishing boat, on the outskirts of Palma de Mallorca, starting their adventure from Dellis, east of Algiers.

Head of the European Federation of Algerian Illegal Immigrants Association, Noureddine Belmedah told Echorouk that the boat was intercepted near a tourist area of the Spanish island Palma de Mallorca, exactly in the area of Cabrera, a small island with tourist resorts.

 

Echorouk source said that the 11 Algerian illegal immigrants arrived on the night of Sunday to Monday to the Spanish island; they are all adult males and appeared in good health and that they told the Spanish coastguards that they sped away from Dellis, Boumerdes, east of Algiers.

 

Belmedah asserted that the 11 illegal immigrants were heared by the Spanish Anti terrorism gendarmerie and the police interrogated them and brought them to a judge to consider their case, however, they are likely to be referred to the temporary detention of illegal immigrants in Barcelona before being deported later to Algeria.
