Spring Floods hit Western Algeria
Residents try to tow a car off a flooded road in Algeria

Various wilayas of the West noticed, during the last 48 hours, torrential rain and strong winds which changed the spring air, as significant quantities of rainfall, without causing considerable casualties, but the rain turned into a source of terror for the residents of chaotic neighborhoods and fragile houses.

In Oran residents of these buildings wary the occurrence of landslides as usual, especially as the wind swept strongly on Friday, and in Relizane there were considerable damages, particularly at the chaotic neighborhoods because of the lack of configuration, as well as at the urban modern streets, such as Albermadia district and the city of 1026 homes. ‬

Floods turned dangerous in Mascara, where residents, affected by recent rains, asked for the release of lists of housing related to projects ready for delivery, but the governor, as confirmed by informed sources, preferred to postpone the distribution of houses until the end of elections, and the rainy was the reason which pushed population to protest, demanding new houses as soon as possible.

Weather change at the height of the spring and the torrential rains that has not stopped since Thursday morning, caused floods in various neighborhoods that suffer from the fragility of the configuration, ponds ‭and mud blocked the roads ‭causing the crisis of traffic ‭over the past hours.
