Story of two Algerian Brothers killed in Libya

Families of the two Algerians “‬ Rachid Menaa ” ‬ and his brother ‭ “Rachid ‬Hakoum” told ‬Echorouk in Ouergla (south of Algeria) that their two sons were killed in ‭the Libyan city of Sebha ‬during a gun ‭battle between ‭ some ‬youth and the Chad ‭ “‬ Tabu ” Militias describing them as remnants of ‭ Gaddafi’s mercenaries.

  The family of the deceased, “Rachid Manna”, aged 27, said that the death militias had killed their son in a gun battle neighborhood of “Gardah” and insisted on calling him a martyr who used arms with some of his young friends  for self-defense and to protect some of the innocent families following the armed attacks carried out by groups of  “Altou” tribes who were hired by Gaddafi and granted  ‭ ‬ ‭ ‬the Libyan citizenship to join ‭ ‬ ‭ ‬ his collapsed regime . ‬

They recently formed groups for controling security and vitality to establish a zone of their own as explained by the older brother of the deceased, adding that his brother obtained a baccalaureate degree and worked in the farming sector the company with his brother and is a brave man whose last words after the were “forgive me, Dad”, before being shot ‭ ‬ in ‭ ‬ leg ‭ ‬by the ‭ ‬ sniper of ‭ ‬ the ‭ “‬ Tabu ‭” then in ‭ ‬ ‭ ‬ his shoulders and arm, then ‭ ‬ ‭ ‬ ‭ ‬ died after ‭ ‬ minutes.

His brother “Hussein” was shot in his shoulder and survived after being taken to a hospital, his wound was dangerous, especially due to the lack of the medical equipments, thus he was transfered to a clinic in the capital Tripoli, where he was subjected to surgery and his health condition is now stable, but he still did not know the death of his brother.

The spokesman of the family asserted that the family moved to Libya in the eighties due to the father’s job, as the family had properties and lands and are respected by all.

On the other hand  the family of “Hakoum”, which lives in the village of Ruwaisat in Ouergla (south of Algeria), expressed sadness due to the death of their son, “Rachid Hakoum” 36 years, who was high Technician High in aviation. His brother Mohammed told Echorouk that he died after suffering injuries in the chest and leg and was shot by a sniper in “Cambo Tiroui ‭” and the last words he ‭ ‬ said ‭ ‬ to his father ‭ ‬ before ‭ ‬ leaving ‭ ‬ home were ‭ “‬ death ‭is destined by Allah‭” , as he was ‭ ‬ buried ‭ ‬on Tuesday in Sabha‭.
