Swine flu kills three in Algeria
For the first since the outbreak of the pandemic, Algeria resisters three deaths caused by the virus H1N1 among its citizens, a communiqué released by the health ministry reveals.

The death involved a 27 year old woman and her new-born baby in the province of Oran (western Algeria) and another lady in her fifties living in the province of Biskra (southern Algeria).

Experts revealed that the expectant mother’s death was due to the fact that this one contracted the virus but was not aware; being pregnant, she couldn’t take medicines after the discovery of the virus.

The case of the second woman from Biskra was similar to the first; since this later was not aware that she was contaminated by the H1N1 and moved to a hospital to receive treatment against respiratory problems.

The three cases join the list of 50 others recently registered by the authorities raising the overall number to 247 cases of H1N1 so far. Among the 47 cases, 7 were registered in the province of Tizi Ouzou, 6 in Oran including four people who recently returned to the country coming from Sudan, 4 in Bouira, 14 in Algiers and three others in Blida.

Reports released by the World Health Organization reveal that 6750 deaths were recorded all over the world and that the alert was raised to level five so far. The pandemic has reached its peak in some areas of the northern hemisphere of the globe.
