Meeting of the Board of the Office Members of the Syndicate of ArcelorMittal company in Hadjar, Annaba, Eastern Algeria, concluded on Sunday with an agreement to give a deadline for the Directorate-General and Director-General of the company in order to sit at the negotiating table on social and professional demands of workers, as well as to discuss a comprehensive investment program for the various units and workshops.

Secretary General of the Syndicate decided to send a statement for the workers expressing their willingness to launch a general and comprehensive strike that would cripple the complex and unit of shipment  at the port of Annaba and Al Ouaza Mine, in Tebessa, Eastern Algeria, because of what it called the decline of the Directorate General promises and commitments with its social partner, about discussing several issues concerning the professional and social situation for more than 5200 workers.

Syndicate called upon the union to recruit workers to paralyze Al Hadjar compound in response to the position of the foreign partner who refused to negotiate the list of demands which had been put forward for a study on his desk, with giving a final opportunity to manage the compound in order to consider seriously the concerns, considering that the second step will be a massive protest of workers, through launching a general and open strike to denounce the work policy by the foreign partner in dealing with the Syndicate members and the committee of contribution.
