Tebboune: “The state Will Not Tolerate A Reference CloseTo Terrorism That Exploits Protests”

President of the Republic, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and the Minister of National Defense, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, chaired, on Tuesday, a periodic meeting of the Supreme Security Council devoted to assessing the country’s general situation at the political and security levels.

A statement by the Presidency of the Republic read: “Today, Tuesday, April 06, 2021, Mr Abdelmadjid Tebboune, President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, presided over a periodic meeting of the Supreme Security Council devoted to assessing the country’s general situation at the political and security levels”.

“President of the Republic listened to the interventions of members of the Supreme Security Council on the issues listed on the agenda, then he saluted the efforts made by state institutions in preparation for the legislative elections scheduled for June 12, 2021, asserting the need to take all necessary measures to make it a successful date”.

The Supreme Security Council also examined “the incitement and dangerous deviations recorded by separatist circles, and illegal movements with a reference close to terrorism, which exploits the weekly protests”.

In this context, “President Abdelmadjid Tebboune confirmed that the state will not tolerate these deviations that have nothing to do with democracy and human rights, by giving orders for the immediate and strict application of the law and put an end to these suspicious activities and unprecedented abuses, especially towards state institutions and their symbols aiming to obstruct the path of democracy and development in Algeria”.

On Tuesday, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, chaired a new meeting of the Supreme Security Council.

According to a statement by the Presidency of the Republic, “Mr Abdelmadjid Tebboune, President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense, presides over a meeting of the Supreme Security Council at the presidency headquarters.
