The Association of Defending Rights of Air Algérie Customers rejected the way of compensation approved by the company for the benefit of those affected by the strike of July, saying that 100 Euros is shameful and humiliating the dignity of Algerians.

 


The coordinator of the association Amar Ait Mokhtar said in a statement, available to Echorouk, that his association strongly deplores the method of compensation by Air Algérie, because it is a scandal, adding that the association still insists on resorting to the French justice to apply the European law to recover the customers’ rights.

 

“The European law in force provides that in the case of postponing a flight the company must provide refreshments, snacks and accommodation in a hotel if necessary, as well as ensuring the costs of two phone calls and taking passengers to hotels. Under the same regulation the airlines company must provide two options for customers either to redirect them as soon as possible or giving a direct compensation without deduction of the price of ticket because there was no flight, and if necessary programming another flight for the starting point in the earliest time”, he asserted.
