The Category Of Algerians Concerned With The Extension Of The French Visa, Residence Permit
The French General Consulate in Algeria announced the extension of the long-term visas of Algerian nationals, which expired between March 16 and June 15 for six months, due to the closure that accompanied the spread of the Corona pandemic.
The French General Consulate said, in a statement, on its official Facebook page, that those who hold a residence permit or received its deposit, a temporary residence licence or a long-term visa, are benefiting from the extension of the validity of these documents for 6 months.
The statement explained that this category of Algerians can benefit from an extension for months provided that the concerned documents expired between March 16 and June 15, and they will be able to enter the Schengen zone on this basis, without the need for new issuance of return visas or visas for a long stay.
“It is best for those concerned to return to the Schengen space directly through France, where a general information form explaining how to extend the validity of the aforementioned documents and the resulting results regarding residence and land entry can be downloaded from the French Interior Ministry’s website that is available in French and English, and it is advisable to bring a copy when returning to France”.
“As for people whose visas expire after June 15, they must submit a new application for a long-term visa at the General Consulate”.
For its part, the Italian Embassy in Algeria announced, through a statement on its official website, that in cooperation with the partner “TLS Contact”, and according to the gradual lifting of quarantine in Algeria and in response to requests that have arrived in the past weeks, there will be a process of gradual appeal for visa applications starting from June 28th.
According to the same statement, the TLS Contact centres in Algiers, Annaba and Oran will open their doors again to visa applicants from June 28, and long-term visa files of type “D”, which is a visa for professional purposes (independent work) and Long-term visa for family reasons (family reunification), and return visas for those whose visas have expired on June 22.
