The Emir of Qatar leaves Algeria after joyful celebrations of the country's successful bid for 2022 World Cup
The Emir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani left Algerian capital, Algiers, on Friday morning ,wrappping up a two-day brotherly visit to Algeria.
The Emir was seen off upon departure at Houari Boumediene International Airport by Speaker of Algeria National Assembly Abdulaziz bin Saleh and a number of senior Algerian officials.
The Emir was accompanied duing the visit by thE Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabor Al Thani and an official delegation.
Accompanied by a large delegation, Emir of Qatar was greeted on his arrival at Algiers International Airport by President Abdelaziz Bouteflika yesterday (Thursday December 2).
During his visit, Sheikh Hamad will hold talks with Bouteflika in particular on the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries and the peace process in the Middle East, according to a statement from the Algerian presidency.
Algeria and Qatar have good political and economic relations. The Qatari groups are particularly present in gas and mobile telephony via Wataniya Telecom Algeria, a subsidiary of Qtel and gas.
The Emir’s visit to Algeria came after Fifa president Sepp Blatter confirmed the small Middle Eastern country’s successful bid following a vote by the governing body’s 22-man executive committee today in a historical day for both and Muslim countries in the World.
