The Greens Drop In The FIFA World Rankings

The national team have fallen ten places in the FIFA world rankings of June, released on Wednesday.

In April ranking, the Desert Foxes climbed 15 places to secure the 40th spot, and then lost a place in May ranking (41th).

Algeria came 9th in Africa, while Cote D’Ivoire have secured the top spot after climbing a massive 7 places, reaching, thus, their best position (14th) since the introduction of the world ranking. Cote d’Ivoire are followed by Ghana (21), then Egypt (34), Burkina Faso (37), Nigeria (41), Senegal (43), South Africa (47) and Cameroon (48).

Algeria’s opponents in the African Nations Cup qualifiers, namely Morocco, Tanzania and Central Africa, have come respectively (63), (127) and (91). 

Among the top ten teams, only leaders Spain and closest challengers the Netherlands have retained their positions. Brazil, third last month, have lost 2 places (5).
