The hero of Algerian squad Bouguerra: “With my best regards to the Algerian people”

The first scorer of the Algerian squad Abdelmadjid Bouguerra expressed in the interview given to “Echorouk” his immense joy at the Fennecs' meritorious win over Zambia, declaring that this result was a big step forward towards the South African World Cup.

• Q: An important victory isn’t?
• A: Indeed, especially that we defeated the Zambian side on their own pitch. Thank God we took the better of them with two goals.
• Q: Does this victory come out of resilience, challenge or something else?
• A: It’s rather the outcome of a whole team’s solidarity. When we play to the Algerian squad we don’t think about anything else but victory because the Algerian people are expecting a positive result. The celebrations after the win over Egypt compelled us to do the same versus Zambia regardless of difficulties.
• Q: You were at the origin of the first gal that uplifted the team’s spirit.
• A: Thank God for this personal achievement. Frankly speaking when I received the ball from Ziani I jumped over the pack of players. At that particular moment I was looking at the Zambian fans as if they were Algerian prompting in me an additional strength that enabled me to get higher and score.
• Q: After this victory, our chances qualify for the world Cup doubled isn’t?
• A: So far, we have  secured our participation in the next African Cup, but we will not content with that and we have the obligation to win the three remaining matches to take the lead of the group and go to the 2010 world Cup
